I seek to be an international sports communicator, in English and Spanish, in front or behind the scenes, at the highest journalistic level. I have experienced what it takes and the attention to detail that goes behind any audiovisual production. It's a dream that at this point in time, has never been further from impossible.
I was born and raised in Sogamoso, Colombia, a small city in the upper Andes mountains. My mom had me at the age of 17, so my grandparents and secondary family took care of me while she went to college. As a single-mother and hard-working nurse, she single-handedly raised me while handling jobs in different towns until November of 2013, when we migrated to the United States with hopes of a better life.
Learning English was difficult, but Homestead, Florida was a welcoming town. My peers, and my now stepfather, helped me grasp the language while maintaining a strong bond to my culture. We are now a family of five, I have two younger brothers that I love dearly.
Today, I am blessed to be a citizen of the United States after a 10 year process, proud to be graduating from Penn State University on a full-ride scholarship, and glad to be an image my brothers look up to and my family is proud of. I will become the first college graduate in my step-fathers family, one that welcomed me with undying love.
